TGC facilities solutions for North Middlesex University Hospital

We answered an urgent call from North Middlesex University Hospital Trust in early March 2020.

They needed some support as a large number of their cleaning teams had started to isolate from COVID-19. We were invited in for an initial conversation due to our previous experience and reputation in Infection Control and project management.

The landscape when we arrived was challenging, the hospital was seeing a sharp increase of admissions for Covid-19 along with staff shortages in several of the soft services departments. We were instructed to quickly mobilise a team of initially 12 staff covering domestic cleaning in the major entrances and exits of the public hospital. As the weeks and months went on we increased our staffing to align with the needs of the hospital trust, culminating with a team of 100+ multi-skilled operatives.

During this project we assisted the Trust in the mobilisation and permanent staffing of an offsite hospital ward owned by Haringey Council, redecoration of hospital wards and the successful introduction of touch point cleaning throughout the patient clinics in the hospital, allowing the Trust to welcome back patients for routine appointments.

As the assignment has developed we have teams working in many differing roles throughout the hospital trust including Portering, Catering, Infection Control Cleaning, Administration, Transport and Project Management Support.
